Hesperia

8:17 am to 3 pm.  173.6 miles

Friday night's storm was incredible.   Torrential rains and wind gusts to 80 mph.  Lots of flooding,  trees down and fast flowing creeks.   Don't think any major stuff happened but haven't heard news today as we are on the road.

Left town along Cabrillo and could see the flooding and mud flows from Saturday morning.   We also had to the drive the Rincon Parkway and there were definitely very muddy spots.  Should have stopped to take a photo at the end of the parkway where some homes are right on the beach.   There were massive waves coming over the rocks and looked like they were actually hitting the houses.   Pretty spectacular.

Hobson County Park - this guy was lucky, all the other spots along the rocks were flooded

Of course we did not take the google recommended route as that's all freeway.  Instead had a lovely drive up the 126 and 14.  By 2:30 we had enough so found this campground and decided to stay.   There's one other person here,  in a car with a tent.   Yikes!   Good luck!   It's cold here. 48 degrees at 4 pm.  Still,  lovely looking at the lake and parkland and all the white pelicans.
