| We're the baby here compared to the huge rigs around us |
After picking up a car today we decided to explore Hwy 112
from Indio to downtown Palm Springs. It’s
very interesting that all this area consists of gated communities. It’s very clean, very well kept and very
attractive. Streets are very wide - 4 to
6 lanes everywhere. We didn’t see a two
lane road anywhere.
The downtown is quite picturesque and vibrant - lots of folks walking around the stores, restaurants, bars…

We were headed to see the 26 foot statue of Marilyn Monroe
in downtown Palm Springs. As it turns
out, it wasn't there and probably won’t be back until 2020. Below an excerpt from a local paper.

“Forever Marilyn,” the wildly popular 26-foot tall sculpture of the legendary screen icon Marilyn Monroe which graced downtown Palm Springs for nearly two years — attracting thousands of residents and visitors alike — may soon return to Palm Springs once again, but this time for good.
